Abstract
Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the impact of entrepreneurship education on the tendency towards innovative (entrepreneurial) activities among higher education students in Tehran, using Ajzen's theory of planned behavior, and to compare the role of academic and non-academic education in this regard.
Methods: The statistical population of this study consisted of students from the top 5 universities in Tehran. A sample of 400 students was selected for the study. Structural equation modeling was used to test the research hypotheses.
Findings: The study found a positive and significant relationship between students' intention and tendency towards innovative (entrepreneurial) activities and their attitudes towards entrepreneurship, mental norms, perceived behavior control, academic training, and entrepreneurial skills. The study also confirmed the relationship between demographic characteristics and the intention of students' innovative activities.
Conclusion: Entrepreneurship education can be a valuable solution to promote innovative activities and create employment opportunities for higher education graduates. The study suggests that academic and non-academic education should be used together to enhance entrepreneurship education.
