Purpose: This study aims to explain the effect of strategic entrepreneurship dimensions on competitive intelligence in technology-based companies located in the University of Tehran Science and Technology Park, considering the mediating role of entrepreneurial opportunity recognition. Accordingly, the dimensions of strategic entrepreneurship, including entrepreneurial mindset, entrepreneurial culture, strategic resource management, and the application of creativity, were examined.
Methodology: In terms of purpose, this research is applied, and in terms of data nature, it is descriptive-survey. The statistical population consisted of 112 managers of technology-based companies located in the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran. Using Cochran’s formula and proportional stratified random sampling, 86 individuals were selected as the research sample. Data were collected through standard questionnaires. SPSS and structural equation modeling using the Smart PLS approach were employed to analyze the data and test the conceptual model of the study.
Findings: The results indicated that the dimensions of strategic entrepreneurship, including entrepreneurial mindset, entrepreneurial culture, strategic resource management, and the application of creativity, have a positive and significant effect on competitive intelligence in technology-based companies. The findings also showed that entrepreneurial opportunity recognition has a positive and significant effect on competitive intelligence and plays a significant mediating role in the relationship between the dimensions of strategic entrepreneurship and competitive intelligence.
Conclusion: Based on the findings, it can be concluded that strategic entrepreneurship is a key factor in enhancing competitive intelligence in technology-based companies. Companies that possess an entrepreneurial mindset and culture, manage their resources strategically, and apply creativity in organizational processes are more capable of recognizing entrepreneurial opportunities and transforming them into valuable competitive information.
